Creating and living a life of inspiration starts from within. Take steps toward self-discovery and building your desired life.
Try as we might, we cannot change our past actions. Nor can we, with absolute certainty, predict the future – what is to come. We have control of managing what is happening in our present moments – the here and now.
In being mindful of making conscious choices in the present moment, we are creating a bright future. Our future realities is largely created by decisions and choices we make in the present moment. We have to stay attentive to our present to make sure we are making the right choices.
A bright future is possible by taking time to engage in an internal process to recognize, support and encourage your inner-most values, strengths, passions, hopes, and dreams. Then, intentionally choose to use your present moments to create the vision into reality.
We must stay connected with our inner worlds as we are making decisions, to make sure we are making the right choices. Make sure we are responding to the present moment experiences through our internal lens, of all that we want and need, to create our bright future.
How To Discover What Lies Within You:
Having an intimate understanding of who you are and what you want out of life is important. Knowing such details will give clarity, and offer a guide for making life decisions – in the present moment.
Helpful questions to ask yourself to intimately discover who you are and what you want:
1. Who am I?
2. What are my values?
3. What bring me joy?
4. What do I like about myself?
5. What do I not like about myself?
6. What kind of life do I want to create for myself?
7. What are my fears?
8. What am I hoping to experience in my life?
9. What contributions do I want to make for others, the world?
10. What do I do that I can easily get lost in?
11. What experiences makes me laugh the hardest?
12. What experiences makes me cry the hardest?
Ways To Practice Being Present:
Being fully present takes practice. It is not always easy to stay in the here and now of our experiences – not get pulled to worries about our future or caught lamenting about past regrets – yet it is not impossible. The more we practice it, the easier it becomes.
It is an important practice that will help you make conscious choices from a present state of mind, versus regrets of the pass or fears of the future. The more you practice it, you can sooner recognize the moment when you are led by thoughts that are not of your present experience or who you are; then you can quickly adjust.
Helpful guiding tips to help with being present:
- When engaged in an activity, work on tapping into all of your five senses to help you live in the moment – be present.
- Pay attention to your thoughts, and when they are focused on topics that are not of the present moment or experience, just gently bring it back to moment. Keep doing it, no matter how many times you have to do so. Be gentle with yourself, and so do not criticize your thoughts for jumping around.
- As you are engaged in an activity or experience, think of the various things you can be grateful about specific to that particular experience and moment.
- Slow down your pace – both speaking and walking – which can help you further connect with what is happening in your mind.
- Identify an object or sound that will be your signal to check in with yourself to make sure you are being mindful of your present moment and thoughts.
So, ask yourself:
What strengths and passion lie within me?
How can I practice being much more present?
How will I begin to live a life fully embracing all of my inner qualities that I possess?
