How to achieve what you want? Achieving what you want starts with your thoughts – believing in the possibilities even before seeing it has your reality.
I believe I can. I think I can. I know I can.
Believing in yourself is the start of many wonderful things to come. The key to success is to believe, keep believing and consistently put in the work to create your vision. There may be moments when it will not be easy to keep believing, especially when it seems things are not effortlessly falling into place as you planned.
Believing you can help you be halfway there, but the true test is what follows. It is worth it to put in your best effort in the remaining fifty percent that can help you get what you want. You must continue to believe you can, especially when there are bumps and problems during the journey, and actively engage in actions that matches what you want.
That is often the time when it will take a lot of mental energy to stay on course and keep moving toward your vision – your goal. It will be emotionally and physically exhausting but worth staying focused on the goal, because holding on during the disappointments and frustrations also create experiences that create positive feelings of joy and fulfillment – from being or doing exactly what you had envisioned.
How To Hold On During Disappointments And Frustrations?
Acknowledge the natural emotions without judgment. Yet, do not let yourself become stuck in that state. Then use an inside-out approach to managing:
1. Engage in activities that can help you shift into positive emotions (e.g. review a list of your ‘why’ behind the goal)
2. Monitor your thoughts to make sure they are affirming and supportive, which will produce positive emotions to support and propel you toward your vision of what you want
3. Find ways to engage your five senses through your actions to help you reconnect with your ‘why’ behind your goal (e.g. looking at pictures or speaking it as if it has already happened)
